We decided on real wood throughout, choosing three complimentary woods in two formats. The lower bulkhead is fitted with vertically placed random tongue-&-groove boards in cherry to give a warm feeling. The upper bulkhead and into the deckhead is in oak panels with oak trim. In the centre of the deckhead in each room is an oval panel of maple to give a lighter touch above. Trims between different woods and around portholes etc are in cherry.
Central heating radiators are low-profile panels in grey.
Lighting is LED throughout, with under-gunwale striplights for effect.
All locker doors and drawers are soft-close to stop them banging closed if open or keep them shut.
Flooring is by Karndean as it is more hard-wearing than linoleum, and has a warmer feel. Each room has a different design - the saloon and the two bedrooms have oak planking laid on the diagonal with imitation caulking between the planks, the galley has imitation slate tiles laid on the diagonal with 'cement' between the tiles, and the shower-room has imitation marble with a Romanesque border.
