The original almshouses in Bedworth were gifted to the Parish in the Will of Reverend Nicholas Chamberlaine (1632-1715) who had been Rector there for 50 years. They were built in the Hall Yard. The present almshouses were built on this site in 1840 by John Toone Esq. to a design by Thomas Larkin Walker Esq. F.R.I.B.A.
The local school also honours Rev. Chamberlaine.
