King's Norton Stop Lock

Along with most other canals, the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal was very precious about its water. Stop Locks were constructed at junctions and boats were forced to go through these locks when changing canals. Tolls were levied as they passed through. Often, the difference in water level amounted to only a few inches. The lock and guillotine gates are a Grade II listed site.
