Ferry Meadows mooring, Overton Lake, Peterborough

Overton Lake is part of Ferry Meadows park, one of six locations administered by the Nene Park Trust . They provide activities, opportunities to watch nature, and recreational space for all, free of charge. There is an entrance from the River Nene to Overton Lake and two finger pontoons for mooring boats (these can accomodate a 70ft narrowboat, and are capable of taking two breasted boats each side (total eight)). We noted later that stay is supposed to be limited to 24hrs. The park has a miniture railway (pay) and is ideal for visiting the Nene Valley Railway
