The Llangollen Railway  is a 10 mile (2015) preserved section of the railway which used to run from Ruabon to Barmouth. The line was closed in 1968 and much of the infrastructure demolished. Llangollen station reopened in 1975 with 60ft of track, reaching Berwen in 1985, Deeside in 1990, Glyndyfrdwy in 1993 and Carrog in 1996. The first phase of restoration to Corwen is now complete, with a temporary platform in use. The second phase will include the station building and run-round loop.
