The crew of an ABC Hireboat had trapped their rudder between the middle gates, which caused the stern to hang on the cill between the two chambers of the staircase. The local Fire Service had been called to rescue the occupants (nobody hurt). CRT attended but were unable to get a contractor organised for that day. The Stoppage continued through to the following day.
Update 23 Aug 2020

A Tarpaulin was placed over the front entrance to prevent water going back inside as they pumped it out.

A salvage pump was used to pump out the inside water, allowing the boat to float again.

Water was slowly added through the top chamber to bring the boat to a workable level. More water was then pumped out from the stern using a smaller electric pump. This stabilised the boat sufficiently to allow them to close the middle gates, lower the bottom chamber and haul the boat clear.
